Proven SIGTRAN-capable SMSC a first in Latin America

PANAMA, 22nd April 2008 - Jinny Software, a leading global supplier of messaging and media platforms to mobile network operators, today announced that it has won two new deals with operators in Peru and Brazil, both of which are part of a larger Brazilian group operator.  Jinny’s SMSC was selected by both operators due to the previous success experienced by the Brazilian group operator.

The initial deal in Brazil was for Jinny’s Message Router, a powerful middleware product that provides a single entry and multiple delivery channels for all content and application providers and short message interconnection with several operators, but this has now been extended to include the Jinny SMSC.

In Peru, Jinny has been selected to provide the operator with a SIGTRAN SMSC, having successfully proven its capability to deliver SMS over SIGTRAN using the M2PA protocol.  SIGTRAN provides SS7 Signalling over IP replacing the functionality provided by a traditional SS7 link.

The cost/benefit ratio, flexibility and capability of the Jinny solutions in solving problems regarding interconnection with other operators were key issues addressed in securing this deal as the customer requires interoperability to several other key operator groups in Brazil, Peru and across Latin America.

Jinny’s Regional Sales Director for the Americas, Fintan Supple, said, “Jinny is delighted to be one of the first to deliver a proven SIGTRAN-capable SMSC in Latin America. These new deals mark the growing success of a mutually beneficial relationship. We are now in discussions with regard to other solutions that we hope to deliver to the group.

“The win also increases Jinny’s presence in the Latin American Region and proves Jinny Software to be a very strong and focused regional player in the messaging and multimedia space,” Supple concluded
