Jonathan Miller, Former AOL Chairman & CEO Joins Motricity Board
Motricity announced that Jonathan Miller, former Chairman and CEO of AOL has joined the Motricity Board of Directors
Miller is a founding partner of Velocity Interactive Group, a leading investment firm that focuses on digital media and communications and he’s credited with architecting an industry-defining turnaround at AOL. Velocity is an investor in Motricity.
From 2002 to 2006 Miller served as Chairman and CEO of AOL. During that time, he restructured AOL’s core business lines and helped the company deliver record annual profit growth of 21 percent.
“Jon brings tremendous strategic and operational expertise to Motricity,” said Ryan Wuerch, chairman and CEO of Motricity. “He has incredible vision, and great experience in defining strategies for companies in emerging, high growth sectors. He understands the complexity of our ecosystem and how to structure a business that scales. He’ll add substantial value to Motricity as we continue to grow. What we think?
One minute Motricity is sacking the majority of its staff and keeping the new InfoSpace people and the next it’s hiring a known company turn around guru to sit on the board.
Me thinks – some big changes are coming. Saddle those horses and get ready for a leaner more credible player moving forward.
