One thing that is clear that visual mobile search is in its infancy and companies have to start somewhere.
Kooaba is one vertical in the chain offering mobile search for movie posters. At first I thought “oh dear” but actually focusing on a niche is a great way to educate the market and because there are only a few movies out at specific times there is little case for error.

This means that Kooaba could educate the market for visual search – starting with movies and then moving across and/or along the scale. The press release suggests global expansion and this could be huge in a market like India where movies dominate the entertainment industry.
