Leading developers from across mobile entertainment use DeviceAnywhere
DeviceAnywhere sent a wonderfully self-serving release out today, about leading developers that are using it’s application testing platform. Mobile search company Taptu, mobile games developer Twistbox Entertainment, and mobile marketing and advertising company Velti are all leaders in their industries - and they’re all using DeviceAnywhere to bring their product to market sooner.
What does DeviceAnywhere do?
It maintains a huge bank of mobile devices - developers can remotely use these devices to test mobile applications. The service allows companies to use virtual versions of pretty much any phone in existence, running on any platform and any network, to test their and develop their apps.
The ultimate purpose of DeviceAnywhere is to make the end user experience as good as possible, by allowing developers to iron out as many technical kinks across as many platforms as possible before launch.
Quotes:
Bob Last, SVP Business at Taptu: “The Taptu search engine is a made for mobile service where the end-user experience is key. The DeviceAnywhere service has allowed us to ensure the Taptu service works across a range of devices and networks. We can test device interaction as well as search engine results, to ensure our users are receiving a quality mobile experience.”
Michael Steuer, VP of Games from Twistbox Entertainment: “Twistbox Entertainment’s content and games must be available for any consumer. DeviceAnywhere’s wide selection of mobile devices gives us the ability to produce games that are portable to any device, regardless of operating system, manufacturer, or carrier. Through DeviceAnywhere we are able to maximize our consumer reach.”
Velti’s CEO, Alex Moukas: “Due to our global customer ecosystem of brands, agencies and operators, it is imperative that we have easy access to carrier networks all over the world. To this end DeviceAnywhere was the best choice for our testing as it allowed us to conduct worldwide trials from a central location using its remote access platform.”
Faraz Syed, CEO and Co-Founder of DeviceAnywhere: “At DeviceAnywhere we continue to add and diversify our products and solutions to accommodate the evolving needs of the developer community. We continue to work with our customers to develop new services, in addition to continually expanding our global reach through the addition of carriers and global networks to the DeviceAnywhere service. With our commitment to these two values, developers can expect continued access to the industry’s most comprehensive development solutions through DeviceAnywhere.”
What we think?
Eesh… this really is a “look at how awesome we are” release, which would usually have gone straight in the “Press Release” section. But I’m always very happy to see the growth of services like this, services that help ease a massive burden on developers. The sheer number of devices, operating systems and networks can make it ridiculously difficult to get true mass distribution of a product.
