Listen to internet radio on your Windows mobile with WunderRadio, from RadioTime and Weather Underground
An iPhone app that allows users to tune in to tens of thousands of internet radio stations is now available on Windows Mobile devices.
Developed by RadioTime and Weather Underground, WunderRadio won Macworld’s 2008 Best Radio App award. It has now been adapted to run on any Windows Mobile phone, and features a “today screen” plug-in for the OS. The screen lets users see what songs and programs are now playing from their phone, without having to open the application.
WunderRadio Windows Mobile will be available on January 15, 2009 for a 30-day promotional price of $9.99 USD from Jeyo.com and other online mobile device and applications retailers. The price will be $14.99 when the promotion ends.
From the release:
“WunderRadio not only provides a wider selection of stations than any other tuner available for Windows Mobile devices, it also provides the most robust and easiest to use search engine,” said Bill Moore, CEO, RadioTime. “Everything that has made the WunderRadio application for the iPhone so popular is now available to Windows Mobile device users: the most comprehensive worldwide channel list, a wide range of audio formats, and reliable listening and integration with your device.”
What we think?
I’m a big fan of internet radio in general. Also, being the owner of a Windows Mobile device, I’m delighted with this news. For those like me, who will really get some use out of the service, the promotional price is greatly appreciated. But a general price tag of 15 USD? That’s a bit weighty, especially considering iPhone owners can download it for 5 euro.
