TD-LTE begins to grab attention

There’s a new form of LTE available, and it’s pulling in a lot of attention. Developed by China Mobile, TD-LTE has an interesting advantage over plain old LTE. Where LTE has one channel for “upload” and one channel for “download” (which is how most ISPs work), TD-LTE combines both into a single channel. Bandwidth is then allocated to “up” or “down” depending on user demand at the time – this is referred to as Time Division, which is what the TD in its name stands for.
