Usablenet is an m-commerce provider with a really, really serious portfolio of happy clients. Within the last year it has created successful mobile properties for some serious retailers. I’m not talking about single shops here – I’m talking about companies with hundreds of locations and massive on-line stores, including M&S and Chico’s. And now it has announced that PayPal’s Mobile Express Checkout will be integrated into it’s offering.
What’s the story?
What Usablenet does is this: if you have an on-line stores, it makes it fully functional on mobile. Even if you have a massive catalogue of products, spread across multiple browseable categories, Usablenet will provide with a mobile site or app that is easy to search, and allows customer to order and pay for goods through their phone. We’ve covered Usablenet before, including the launches above, but there have been recent launches for John Lewis and House Fraser – and over Christmas it noted a 50% to 100% usage boost of these commerce sites.
Then you’ve got PayPal’s Mobile Express Checkout. The purpose of this is to make paying for goods through PayPal just as easy on mobile as it is on-line.
What’s the news?
Useablenet has integrated PayPal’s mobile payments service directly into it’s own offering. From now on, any retailer who works with them can have PayPal on their mobile apps, mobile sites, Facebook (and other social media), and in-store kiosks.
What we think?
Usablenet President Nick Taylor actually summed up my thoughts on this deal pretty succinctly: “given our significantly shared client base with PayPal, we are thrilled to be able to extend PayPal to mobile and to our other solutions.” These two companies are effectively doing the same thing. They want retailers to use their product to sell their goods to mobile consumers. Useablenet has a really strong history with retailers now, which it can certainly use in pitches to prospective clients. Adding the huge brand recognition of PayPal to that is a good move.

I do consider all the ideas you’ve introduced for your post. They’re really convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are very quick for novices. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.
