MADS announces Mobile Advertising partnership with Vodafone Romania and boats CTR of 4.5%

MADS mobile advertising agencyis partnering with Vodafone Romania (9.5 million subscribers) to integration the MADs mobile advertising platform into Vodafone Live!

What type of mobile advertising?

SMS push, SMS notification and MMS.

Is this the first deployment for MADS with Vodafone?

Nope – others include – Vodafone Hungary and Vodafone New Zealand.

From the press release:
“Vodafone Romania is one of the most advanced operators in the world allowing advertisers to deploy campaigns from a single platform in real-time over multiple mobile channels with over 15 demographic targeting options,” comments Ashu Mathura, CEO and founder of MADS. “Advertisers now have the ability to send a follow-up SMS message to consumers who clicked on a Vodafone Live! banner ad the previous week, driving CTR even higher than the 4% average. While others talk about it, Vodafone Romania is really doing it!”

What we think?
MADS – what a name – are they mad? Nope – nifty website that I like and they are forgiven because they are based in the Netherlands.  Interesting press release – I wasn’t aware that the average CTR for mobile was 4% – as I had guessed it was 2.5% but had been told that 8% was usual with many short term campaigns.

Anyway – its only SMS but if it’s working – and consumers still love it– it would not be right for me to knock it.
