Maxda cx-7 mobi site and barcode campaign
I am a huge BMW fan - but for the first time in my life a mobile barcode campaign in the German Autobild magazine has made the new Maxda look ever more appealing.
What?
Well, I was reading my copy of Auto bild and there was a barcode. The advert was at the bottom of the page and the barcode was huge - at least 250×250. I didn’t even read the make of the card - I just got on my reader and clicked to get this very sexy mobile site.
The site is clean, effective and very simple to use. You can find and then price the car. The website works well and is clean and hasn’t over done it.
OK. OK. This is nothing outrageously new and cars and mobile are like peas in a pod. But the placing of the ad in Autobild, the size of the barcode on the right hand side of

Interesting that the barcode is so big - if they become more commonplace would you expect them to become smaller as people would expect them and look for them?
Are there any stats on what % of the readership can actually scan these barcodes?
Another beautiful example for the use of dot.mobi. After all Autobild is one of the biggest German auto magazines, if not the biggest. The author is BMW fan? Surely he knows http://bmw.mobi, another great tool.
