Meffys - Upoc, Rimma Perelmuter, Dolby, hiccup and more
I was out till 4am (at my age).
Only proving that the Meffys is great for your social life and lots of networking is still done in the middle of the night.
But I had a great night. I was on the MEF table and I spent most of the night next to Gordon Gould one of the founders of Upoc who won the industry recognition award (yikes). He was a lovely guy and we had a really fun time. Then I tried to get Rimma Perelmuter tipsy as I was networking my way into a question. Not sure if it worked but I had a great night.
Kept on breathing into try and keep up with Rimma and the rest of the women at the awards.
I am convinced that I managed to annoy Andrew Bud new top dog MEF so I better be nice to him now in order to get asked to be a judge again!
Jonathan Jowitt former Orange content guy is now at Dolby and I did a short video I publish later.
But it was a GREAT night. Videos and presentation was fab.
I heard a rumour that it would be moving back to London (much better if it does) but Cannes was 101x better than Monaco. On a serious note, I think that the MEF and Meffys should be bigger than it is.
I think the eco-system for entertainment is changing and with it is the appeal and agenda -but there is still a lot of learning to do. Something, that I can’t quite put my finger on is missing. It shouldn’t be missing as the MEF and the Meffys were great -but I will try and figure it out and report back.
But I have to mention the mobile magician guy and company trixcell.com - HOT, HOT HOT.
