MEM 2008 – Mobile Marketing Campaign & Mobile Search Awards Judging
I just would like to extend a warm thank-you to the MEF and Informa for leaving the judging for the Mobile Marketing and Mobile Search and Discovery Awards to be held in Cannes in May 2008 open for me.
After fighting jetlag since my return from CTIA and nursing a fractured finger – I am just finishing the judging now. Last year, I did it in about 2 hours; but this time it’s a lot more competitive and some links to URL’s and portals that have got me addicted to testing out new services. It’s been about 6 hours now! But I think it’s vital to get the right winner and it is based on points. Several other judges have voted and I want my contribution to be as spot on as possible.
I know many of mobile search players in the final, but I am surprised that there are two services that are new to me. This proves that the MEF/ MEM Awards are a great way to get noticed and to drive publicity and attention to new services.

I have also found out that I am the Chairman for the event on the first day and moderating a panel on day two. I realise I thought that the time keeping for the MEM last year was terrible and now I am in charge of it for the first day – so will do my best to crack my whip and keep these entertainment types on the straight and narrow!
