Rating: Tell me what you want what you really really want

I nearly fell of my very uncomfortable chair at the MEM07 conference track on Mobile Communities when TIM presented. I am a huge fan of TIM and Orange’s Gerard Grech did a great job of steering the discussion to the most relevant areas.

So what is it?
TIM’s new media products include Wannabe, Vitamine and mytones. Vitamine and mytones we have blogged about in the past but this time its Wannabe’s turn on the podium.

Wannabe?
Wannabe is a social community for TIM users (especially Tribu) users that want to promote themselves, be on the TV and be famous. Basically you make a video and send it in.

How?

Digital Magics provides wannabe for TIM. The application developer has also managed to cut revenue share based deals on the TV (RAI Uno) for live mobile to TV shows for Wannabe that promote the people that have sent in their own video clips.

But it doesn’t stop there. Another revenue stream is that people can purchase banner ad space to get other people for friends to vote for them or to self-promote themselves.

How cool is that? For EUR 1 per day any Wannabe user can have a mobile banner that promotes them selves on the web. What a simple idea. Get ready for more on this including a full write-up and how it works in the Mobile Advertising and Marketing Analyst.
