Rating: Amongst Brit firms recognised as leaders in wirless
Cross (mobile) platform compiler specialist, Metismo, is delighted to have been among the ten winners in the wireless category of TiE50 awards. Indeed, the Brits are well represented in this sector with at least another winner, Ubiquisys, being a UK company.
“To be selected from such a large and diverse pool of qualified startups is an extraordinary honour for us,” said said John Chasey, CEO of Metismo.
The TiE50 awards are presented by TiE, the organizer of TiEcon 2010 which claims to be the world’s largest conference for entrepreneurs.
Asked if winning the award was part of a move to raise VC capital for the company, Chasey told GoMo News that his company “was not actively seeking VC funds.”
“However, raising our profile amongst VC investors is never a bad thing,” he added. “It also raises our profile amongst potential clients some of which may well have entered for this award themselves.”
Another happy bunny was Keith Day, vp of marketing with Ubiquisys. He told GoMo News, “Coming off the back of the recent commercial launches of our femtocells with SoftBank in Japan and SFR in France we’re delighted to have been recognised with this prestigious award.”
“Being recognized as a TiE50 company is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit that has driven Metismo to this point,” Chasey added.
The awards – which range over five sectors – attracted a total of 4,000 nominees and participants attracted almost 100,000 votes.
“Judging was done by a team of highly accomplished and competent CEOs, serial entrepreneurs, globally recognized venture capitalists, and industry experts with several years of segment-specific experience,” claimed Ram Reddy, TiE50 2010′s chair.
The winners will be honored at the TiEcon 2010 conference at the Santa Clara Convention Center California on May 15th, 2010.
