Midomi: Music Humming Search for iPhone 3G

I wrote about this before and now its iPhone ready!

What is it?

Basically Melodis is introducing midomi a music search and discovery application.
But the search is voice driven and you find your artist by singing, humming, speaking or playing original music to the phone to get results.

From the press release:

“No other music search application available today comes close to providing the level of functionality that midomi mobile can,” said Keyvan Mohajer, president and chief executive officer of MELODIS Corporation. “midomi mobile is the only music search application that supports more than two search formats, and the only one that allows users to search for music by singing or humming. Our music search technology is breaking entirely new ground for iPhone users, and it has no competition yet in sight.”

What we think?

I only tested this twice. The first time to get Kylies La,La, La, La,La La La La – can’t get this out of my head song and then again for Vivaldi’s Triumphant March La,La, la-la-la-la-la, LA,La,La,la la, …..
Kylie worked Vivaldi didn’t. But I didn’t care. Humming music search is fun and hot – I love it.

There is also a social side to this and you can discover similar songs or titles and send clips to friends… me like me like me like!
