MIG helps add AR to FindaProperty iPhone app

Rating: Augmented reality can reduce click count from 7 down to 2-3

Augmented reality is at last beginning to find some reality positive applications and one of them is now inside the very latest version (3.0) of the iPhone app from FindaProperty.com. The AR capability has been delivered via the Mobile Interactive Group‘s  (MIG’s) mobile internet and app publishing platform – Kilrush. The augmented reality layer within the application enables house hunters to find a property using their phone camera and built-in compass. Matt Cockett, group commercial director with MIG commented, “[AR] turns he user experience in to something that is directly relevant to a mobile context and engages house hunters. It does so in a way that simplifies the user’s own search – simultaneously delivering a benefit to both brand and consumer. “Cockett continued, “We’re particularly proud of the work that we’ve completed for FindaProperty.com because it has been created based on extensive user feedback and also because it does so much more than having a simple ‘companion’ function. ”

FindaProperty AR facilityOnce the iPhone app has opened, users can select the augmented reality function and – by looking through their view finder at the immediate building environment – can see property information displayed onscreen.

MIG claims that the augmented reality layer greatly reduces the number of clicks involved in the user’s discovery process from seven clicks down to two to three.

This takes them from viewing a property to calling an agent or requesting more info.

Information appears as thumbnails which show price, direction and distance from the user’s location.

“We’ve listened to consumer feedback and worked really hard to make sure that the iPhone experience is as good as it can be,” claimed Chris Boorman, a product manager with FindaProperty.com.

“FindaProperty.com is extremely happy with the end result and will continue to offer iPhone users an effective on-the-move solution whilst hunting for their next house or flat.”

If you want to download this app and give it a go, then search iTunes for the ‘FindaProperty.com Search App’.

Incidentally, the Mobile Interactive Group has been named the fastest growing tech company in the UK by Deloitte.
