Mig33 a mobile internet community has announced that its parent company Project Goth closed Series A funding of USD 10 co-led by Accel Partners and Redpoint Ventures.

Mig33 WHO?
Launched in December 2005 mig33 is mobile community offering VoIP calls, instant messaging, text messaging and community features. Basically users can save up to 95% of the price of their mobile calls.

Where is it live?
In about 200 countries in BETA including India, Monaco and South Africa with 4 million users sending 15 million messages each day.

From the press release
“There is a race on around the world to establish a mobile platform
that can be the gateway to the Internet for literally billions of
consumers,” said Kevin Efrusy of Accel Partners. “We believe mig33 is well
down the path of becoming a leader in this global race to bring the
Internet to most of the world.”

What we think
Accel and Redpoint are very aggressive VC’s in the mobile and community space. We are currently writing an analysis of these companies portfolio.
