Rating: it’s what they really, really want

Bouygues
On 22nd May, Miyowa, which specialises in mobile instant messaging and entertainment services for communities, announced the launch of the first free community game portal for Bouygues Telecom.

Bouygues Telecom customers can download one of four games, a new will be being released every month, simply by accessing the games portal. The games are free, additional goodies, such as ringtones and avatars can be bought.

CEO of Miyowa, Pascal Lorne, told GoMo News, “In the two weeks since launch we got 20,000 active subscribers. Over 65% of the members are under 25 and 55% of them are women. These are not hard-core gamers, these are casual game players, it’s something to do when you’ve a few minutes to spare. Yes, it’s ad-funded, but the community members are happy to receive ads because they are getting the games for free. The ads are a combination of interstitials and banner-type ads from content providers promoting their off-portal web sites.”

All interesting stuff in the countdown to the launch of the completely ad-funded mobile service for 18-24 year olds that is scheduled to be launched in the UK this month.
