Mobclix gets real-time analysis for its ads

Rating: Thanks to fast database from Aster Data

“I don’t understand this because it’s all Geek to me,” would best describe the latest announcement from Aster Data that Mobclix has chosen its product to deliver that Holy Grail -  high-speed and sophisticated analytics. It has something to do with databases, apparently.

Supposedly, Mobclix can now, “Enhance its already highly targeted advertising platform with statistical analysis; ad placement optimisation; and improved audience targeting to allow developers to maximise ad revenues and advertisers to increase campaign performance.”

Well, that sounds like a good deal. “Now,  a perfect storm of consumer demand for mobile apps – with more than 120,000 for the iPhone alone – are making highly targeted ads a reality,” Aster Data enthuses.

So targeted ads were imaginary beforehand, then? Oh, well. Here’s another bit of a clue as to what the pair are promoting…

“As the first open marketplace for mobile advertising, Mobclix needed a database with unlimited scalability and the horsepower for real-time predictive analysis and behavioural targeting to ensure we serve ads from the highest paying network at any given moment,” revealed Mobclix’ data architect, Shankar Radhakrishnan.

“Mobclix will continue to grow and lead the mobile advertising market because they stay ahead of the market and understand the best way to help mobile application developers and advertisers is to provide analytics that drive revenue and offer low-maintenance scalability to bolster their bottom line,”  said Aster Data ‘s CEO, Mayank Bawa. Phew!

Sounds great. The payback is that while, “Personalised ads have long been a dream for marketers” between the two of them they’ve now cracked it.

Or so they say. The answer has something to do with cloud computing as well. All you need is a Geek-2-English translator and you, too, can discover why Mobclix’s ad serving offering is doing so well thanks to Aster Data.
