Mobicious launches SnapMyLife
Snapmylife.com is a new mobile social media site. During 90 days of pre-launch testing,
SnapMyLife has grown rapidly, with over 1,000 people joining each day. In
March 2008, over 500,000 unique visitors from over 180 countries visited
the mobile site, which served over 4 million page views. In addition,
SnapMyLife appeared in the top 10 social networking web applications for
the Apple iPhone.
That sounds impressive for just another picture service – what is the value add?
Hmm, apart from the fact that it is instant uploads this seems similar to all other mobile social photo sharing services – I think I am missing something.
Wait what does the boss say?
In addition to providing a great experience for a wide range of
audiences and advertisers, SnapMyLife serves the large, global market of
consumers who use the mobile phone as their principal access to the
Internet. “Internet-based social networks and photo-sharing sites have
recently introduced mobile uploading features, but have only scratched the
surface,” said George Grey, CEO and founder, SnapMyLife. “Many of
SnapMyLife’s early users prefer to use the mobile-focused SnapMyLife site
over services that provide their ‘full-experience’ on desktop interfaces.”
What we think?
So its got a mobile site? Is that it? Is that the only difference? Is that actually a difference? Hmmm.
