@Mobile 2.0 Barcelona

So here I am at Mobile 2.0 Developer Day at the Barcelona Activa. The room is small but busy and the audience predominately male. I am feeling slightly overdressed in my new brown and white flashy dress –but am sure that I will get over it!

Anyway – I have had two shocks already today in the panel with:
Yael Wagner – Sun
Ilja Laurs – Getjar
Jure Sustersic – Forum Nokia
Michele Palermo – Telecom Italia
Moderators: Daniel Appelquist and Mike Rowehl.

So what was the shock?
First of all Nokia’s Jure Sustersic from Forum Nokia said his job was to find out what was new in mobile world. He mentioned that one of the initiatives from Nokia was to create a 10 million fun to find out what were the next Flash products for developers.

10 million dollar fund for developers? Yikes, I put my little finger in my mouth and think – why is no one developing FLASH – are there no good products? Well these answers got answered later on (more later)

Then Ilja laurs said he is getting 30 million downloads a month on GetJar. Developers come back to GetJar every day and about 1000 developers log in each day. These stats show that the development market is huge.
