Can mobile advertising surpass traditional channels?
Teleguru.in is suggesting that mobile advertising could be the most cost-effective marketing channel in India – because of its lack of “spillover”. The article suggests that accurate targeting can help combat wastage of advertising expenditure… unfortunately, it’s also quite positive about using carrier billing records to send spam SMS.
Nexage upgrades its ad serving platform
Boston-based mobile advertising company Nexage has announced the first in what it claims is a series of major updates to its ad-serving platform. These updates, it claims, will enable it to double the number of ad requests it can handle, while reducing operational costs.

Local and State tourism gets mobile advertising boost
A new service has been launched called destinationM. This mobile platform is aimed at US local and State-based tourism agencies – and offers WAP sites, an iPhone app, social media integration, local search and SMS updates. Created by eBrains, Inc. and SIM Partners, destinationM will access maps, directions and listings for attractions, events, accomodation and restaurants.

Mobile Marketing Association announces date for Latin American Conference
Earlier this year, the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) broke into four distinct bodies, with a shared direction but separate governing bodies. The Latin America unit has just announced its Forum for 2010 – the massive mobile conference will be held in São Paulo on September 2nd.
