Rating: Mobile will be key focus for the interactive gamer
Those with long memories may recall that betting on horse races was one of the few successful implementations of WAP based services. In this ‘mobile app’ era, the same phenomenon appears to apply to gambling apps. Interactive gaming company, NetPlay TV plc – which is traded on AIM, has announced that its Q3 2012 trading figures are significantly ahead of the same period in 2011. The company says it is particularly encouraged by the uptake of its mobile and tablet apps where revenues have increased by 107 per cent versus Q3 2011.NetPlay says, “Mobile and tablet gaming continues to be a key focus for the company and during the period [NetPlay] has launched mobile slots games which will significantly enhance the existing TV roulette mobile offering.”
Year on year growth has resulted in a 34 per cent increase in revenue compared to Q3 2011.
The company’s games appear to be available for both Android and iOS and examples can be found on Supercasino here.
We wonder how many people will be prepared to bet on NetPlay?
