Mobile Barcodes in Hungary from Magyar Telecom

So, Magyar Telecom’s Atilla Vamos-Hegyi Head of Partner Wholesale in Hungary gave a presentation on the Hungarian mobile barcode market. After SMS he pin pointed mobile barcodes as the biggest potential revenue driver of the future. He said that Magyar Telecom did a special mobile promotion at the Szeged music festival with a small pilot with a poster with a mobile barcode placed in the image of a hand.

The poster was actually a beauty contest so users could take a picture of the mobile code and vote for people in exhcange for mobile services.

He said that the immediate response of the pull and push ticketing used at the Szeged festival were promising and very exciting.

He thinks that mobile barcodes are the next SMS.
