Rating: New deal creates better revenue opportunities for mobile gaming producers
Player X Distribution offers a lot of different services to its clients in the realms of mobile video and TV, but it’s main speciality is as a mobile gaming aggregator. With links to over 140 operators globally, it has a potentially huge reach. The services it has offered to gaming companies up till now included content management and technical support. But it’s new alliance with AdMob means it can now offer better marketing and ad-funding services as well.
From the release:
“As a company we are continually looking at new ways to extend and improve our business to our content partners and this relationship with AdMob is key to doing exactly that,” said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.
“Player X is clearly a leading player in mobile gaming, so it’s great to be able to work with them as they expand, and to drive significant traffic to their gaming portals.” said Russell Buckley, Vice President of Global Alliances, AdMob. “Based on our work in the gaming sector, we expect some really impressive results.”
What we think?
This is particularly sound planning from Player X. In times of recession gaming and entertainment companies are likely to get hit pretty hard. After all, consumers are less likely to “fritter away” precious currency on mobile gaming when times are tight and every penny counts. Partnerships like this are vital in the current climate, as they offer content providers an alternate revenue stream, independent of jumpy consumers.
