I was a judge for the eTech CTIA awards but I didn’t judge this category – mobile innovation and healthcare. This is the winner of that group a company (with a terrible name) ivisit. And an application SeeScan (slightly better name) … but pictures speak louder than words sometimes and take a look at this:

What a stellar application for the blind or partially blind? I mean what a great application just to be sure what you are looking it. I love it. I know the video goes on about 20 dollars and it’s sort of replicates a comedy film – but the US currency all looks the same. When I was there a few weeks ago – I even got confused with a USD 100 and USD 20 bill.
On another note – healthcare has huge potential in this mobile industry. There are amazing enterprise solutions that can work with mobile and mobile visual search, recognition such as this service and mobile barcodes have amazing potential.
