Mobile In-Ad Mobile Gaming company Unkasoft uses Microsoft AD Server Atlas for GameSpace Project
Earlier this week, the small yet dynamic Spanish mobile gaming business Unkasoft – that I have followed since they launched – announced a partnership with Microsoft for mobile advertising.
What is the deal?
Microsoft’s Atlas will be used for Unkasoft’s GameSpace mobile portal.
Instead of just re-writing the press release I twittered Juan Antonio Munoz-Gallego Co-Founder of UnKasoft and asked him to answer a few questions for me. What follows is the response.
Bena: What does the deal mean for you as a business?
Juan: For us is a big step to monetize games at unkasoft.mobi (our off portal with ad-funded games). Many content providers are interested to upload games,and they rely on us, especially now with Microsoft. Also Unkasoft relies on Screentonic (a Microsoft company) to promote the off-portal….
…..I love that idea of collaboration.
Bena: What is the demand like for Advergaming globally?
Juan: You can see in the following report some big numbers:

But, the growth depends on us. We need to evangelize and prove to the advertisers the clear success of mobile marketing and advergaming.
Consumenr interaction is the key in the 2.0 advertising.
Today’s demand come from big brands, at least in our case, Pepsi, Vodafone, Nokia, Toyota,… But as soon as small businesses use mobile marketing, this industry is going to pass from WANT IT to NEED IT.
Bena: For a small company you have been very innovative firstly with Oxfam are you making social issues your niche in the gaming market?
Juan: We’re doing new things in the Spaniard arena, now with ‘Un juguete una ilusión’ -A children a toy, might be the translation-. Also we’re working with BIPBIP Foundation (http://www.fundacionbip-bip.org/ A Bip Bip Classroom is a space equipped with computers with connection to Internet, from which people without resources or in risk of exclusion receive education for their social integration and labour insertion)
But, I need to move more and more in that area and not only in Spain. I hope to give you more info in the 2009 Q1 and in other countries. The interest of the Non-profit organization is clear, and we have to transmit them this new ideas.
