Rating: I thought my car was safe?

by Bena Roberts

I thought Google might stay out of the car, but I was wrong (see Financial Times). GOOG and TomTom are making love and TomTom is allowing Google to download saved map details from Google Maps to car sat-navigation systems.

There are no financial details but the FT says that a TomTom spokes person said, “that the group had considered collecting the information for itself but had opted against “spending millions” in favour of “using the information that is out there already”.
