I got back the results of a survey that we did here at GoMo. It went out to 1500 registered, 1000 newsletter readers and 3000 contacts of mine who know GoMo and read it occasionally but not daily.
I wanted to know what would make GoMo stickier. The results were very interesting.
Everyone agreed that GoMo was a good resource. The “What we think” was often the only thing that people read with the headline.
But in general what was missing was a complete news site. There were a lot of relevant stories but EU based or too US based and nothing for the whole market.
So, in order to resolve this - I thought carefully about news focused mobile blogs or magazines that I read daily. The ones that don’t cover what GoMo covers but are also focused on mobile services.
So in the middle of GoMo News on the left there is a banner 160×600. That will continue to be advertising space -but it will also be used as a widget for a few blogs that I go to daily. It will provide readers with an overview of the news headlines from various resources - (click to go to the specific page).
But it you just want to see what news is available or hot you can just keep refreshing to get a complete overview.
The sources I have chosen for GoMo News are: Mobile News; SMStandard and Mobile Marketer. I might grow add or remove these at will -but for now they provider good reading for daily relevant mobile news.
