Mobile News: Paul Strzelecki, Iain McCready and Michael Libes
I had some interesting chats over the past few days and here is a quick round-up of information.
Michael Libes: Has left Medio and is now working on a secret stealth start-up Ground Truth. I have had a fantastic relationship with Michael for a few years now and he is extremely intelligent. We wish him every success and we have been promised an exclusive when he is ready to unveil the new start-up.
Paul Strzelecki: The MD of Yorkville Investors and mobile man for about 20 years has been appointed Honorary Visiting Professor at The University of Manchester – School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
His goal will be “helping researchers identify and commercialize intellectual property, through spin-out companies and licensing, and lecturing students in enterprise subjects relating to the electronics industry”.
On a personal note when I started up GoMo News I asked Paul to look at my business plan and he completely tore it to pieces and made me start again. He also helped me get into the Top 50 of the UK start-up investment scheme in Cambridge and I think he will be excellent in this role. He is sharp and scary and I actually feel a bit sorry for those students!
Iain McCready: My interview with the CEO of NeoMedia has been delayed to later this month. I heard from Iain yesterday. He mentioned that NeoMedia is closing a huge deal that he just can’t discuss at the moment. He promises us an exclusive and an interview the minute the news can be released. NeoMedia is a sponsor of GoMo News and this is part one of a regular series of interviews I will be conducting with him.
