Mobile SMS experts Sybase announce five new partnerships at CTIA

Sybase 365, the mobile messaging department of Sybase Inc., announced five new partners at CTIA in Vegas. Sybase 365 focuses on mobile enterprise, SMS banking and operator services. The five companies, all of whom are showcasing their solutions at CTIA, are JAGTAG, Integra5, 2SMS, Rave Wireless and Digby.

JAGTAG is a mobile coupon service that operates entirely through SMS to shortcodes. It’s one of the few barcode service that doesn’t require an app download.

Integra5 creates communications and social media platforms across TV, PC and mobile.

2SMS is an enterprise SMS provider, focuses on improving workflow for small, medium, enterprise and government entities.

Rave Wireless is safety and community-awareness SMS service. It enables businesses, universities and municipalities to notify employees, citizens and students of critical events and important news.

Digby is a mobile and on-line web shopping service. It comprises search, browse, purchase, wallet and LBS services.

From the release:

“Sybase 365 mobile messaging technology continues to power innovative mobile messaging services that provide new revenue streams for enterprises and value added services for end-users,” said Gregory Dunn, vice president, Americas, Sybase 365.  “There is a tremendous opportunity for the enterprise, as integrated SMS and MMS mobile messaging services continue to take-off, becoming integral parts of people’s business and social lives.”

What we think?

I’m seeing more stories about SMS than practically any other mobile function these days. Enterprise, advertising, government, flirting (ahem ahem), social networking… it all takes place over the humble 160 characters.
