I got an email asking me to check out Mobile Spinach. I did and its a very simple mobile sharing service.
Basically, the service is free. It enables members to share exclusive deals. Every deal is customised and based on lifestyle issues. The type of deals include detox services, spas or restaurants.
Members or users that sign-up are made aware of offers via text message. But there is an opt in here and users can choose how many alerts they get and when they get them.
What we think?
Now, I am not sure if I am over the moon with the name Mobile Spinach – but I suppose you will remember it every time you think of the green stuff. But, this type of servcie has huge potential. I presume the advertiser pays to advertise and Mobile Spinach is responsible for marketing and advertising. This way there is no cost but just benefits to the consumer.
In the future, I would imagine that there would also be additonal adverts if there is space left in the text opening up more revenue streams. But this type of approach could become viral.
But that will all depend on the offer. The offers have to be good. I love the featured detox on the home page as I am a detox addict. They never work, but it doesn’t stop me buying, signing up and joining every detox, hyrdo-therapy fad that comes out… (shriek, did I just admit that!).
