Rating: voda has the ad edge

First we heard from Vodafone and then from T-Mobile and one presentation was significantly more compelling than the other. This might be what happens when you position an ad guy with a techie – but all in all – the visions were different.

T-Mobile unfortunately seems to still get excited about talking about Google and its holding the company back – what is clear is that T-Mobile thinks that mobile ad market will kick off in 2015 – and Vodafone obviously think its now.

T-Mobile is following an internet based mobile strategy and Vodafone’s strategy sounded piecemeal in that there were too many partners that it was dealing with… but still slightly more solid that T-Mobile’s. The way in which T-Mobile’s Mr. Hossein Moiin spoke about the iPhone and Google Handset Alliance (android); was juxtaposed between arrogant and niave.

This should be sending out alarm bells to T-Mobile to start looking into things to purchase. Or at best increase the scale of mobile advertising from own-label or non-branded channels.
