Monitise and DeviceAnywhere push for up-to-date mobile banking
DeviceAnywhere and Monitise today announced that testing for Monitise’s Mobile Money Manager will begin on the DeviceAnywhere platform. Monetise has chosen DeviceAnywhere to provide it’s testing process for the handset and operator end, to ensure that Monetise is always up to date with the latest developments.
DeviceAnywhere’s virtual testing platform supports over 2000 devices and 30 operator platforms. It provides an on-line database of physical models of all the handsets. Once you’re on the DeviceAnywhere system, you can test your product on any of those handsets from anywhere in the world. The Monetise system allows consumers to fully manage their money from their mobile phone - across any operators, handsets and financial institutions. Consumers can access their money on the move, make payments, pay bills and top-up pre-pay accounts with their mobile.

What we think?
I’m always excited by news concerning mobile banking and mobile payments. Monitise is working at an operator and bank level - that level of integration could lead towards a genuine mobile payment ecosystem. We can already route data and voice through other operators, if we could move money as well it would really open up the mobile shopping possibilities. Being able to quickly and easily pay for goods or services over the mobile would really give people another reason to use the mobile web.
