More Free SMS Services: Ad Infuse Swisscom Mobile Advertising Partnership

adInMotion (mobile advertising solution from Ad Infuse) is now fully integrated in the Vodafone live! Portal in Switzerland.

Swisscomwill be using adInMotion to offer free SMS funded messaging to consumers.  The ad supported content and features will be primarily on-deck and the focus is on serving relevant ads.

“Swisscom’s Vodafone live! portal is one of the most popular destinations in that market on the mobile Web and as such represents some of the best real estate for advertisers and brands,” commented Brian Cowley, CEO, Ad Infuse. “By deploying the adInMotion platform, Swisscom gives brands the opportunity to deploy targeted campaigns that are compelling to consumers.”

What we think?
I am happy for Ad Infuse and for Swisscom, but my clothes aren’t falling off in excitement about this news.  Swisscom is the market leader but only has five million subscribers. Many of which are business and enterprise focused and not users of Vodafone live! Rivals (sunrise and Orange) have a better hold on the youth market and free or ad funded SMS will be a nice addition but not an essential part of the Swisscom’s mobile marketing packaging.
Ad Infuse needs to steer this service away from live and take if off portal or at least provide free stocks and share SMS ad messages which will lift off or engage the right target market.
