Motorola – is a split going to be enough?
A common joke that I have heard for a long time is that you have either worked at Motorola or you want to leave.
Why?
Poor management, too many managers and nothing gets done. Splitting up Motorola is not enough. A huge corporate mentality change is necessary.
Or its viewed as a stepping stone or a bridge for better things.
I would like to tell you a story now – but I am afraid of getting sued just before CTIA.
But, Motorola has phases. It’s a bit like a Rock Star that doesn’t know when to stop. It has the odd great phone but then too many crap ones.
If I was in charge of Moto I would scale down. Focus on only three devices but making sure that these devices were irresistible.
