Rating: Microsoft promises personalised MSN for mobile

One of the Microsoft announcements which got buried at today´s MWC in Barcelona was the fact that a beta version (well, this is Microsoft) of a service called MSN Direct is available now.

The downside is that MSN Direct is only available for Windows Mobile handsets at the moment.
The idea is that mobile subscribers will be able to personalise the content he or she requires from the full MSN service and view it in a more mobile friendly fashion.
The crucial point is that Microsoft fully intends for this service to pay for itself (and proabably even make a profit) from ads served to those who sign up to its service.
I´ve no idea how good this service will be as I don´t have a Windows Mobile handset with me in Barcelona.
Also demonstrated at the same press conference was software from a company called Zumobile (zumobi?), which enables the user to re-arrange the handset´s screen using tiles.
Again it was difficult to gauge just how user friendly this software really is, although it seemed pretty good at on device content discovery.
