MWC: Chat with W3C on Mobile SEO

by: Bena Roberts Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

So, I have a real bee in my bonnet on Mobile SEO at the moment. I am trying to write a white paper understanding the issues and problems with defining Mobile SEO at the moment.

Not focusing on pure technology I want to discover what leaders are doing to help business and consumers to promote their mobile sites.
I met Dr. Marie-Claire Forgue at the W3C stand and I had met her once before in the Vodafone offices in the Strand a few years ago.
This was when Mobile OK was launched as well as the standards. A few years on, we are going to sit down and speak about if the standards for mobile ready sites are enough and how these can be tweaked now to optimise Mobile SEO and standards for SEO in the future.
The W3C is represents one vital part of the value chain but Mobile SEO remains a black hole and moves need to be made now to set the standards for the mobile web to really take off.
Designing a site is vital, but finding a site and getting it the top of a search engine is critical.

Rating:  I look forward to it!
