MWC: On the floor with Yahoo! Europe talking mobile advertising

by: Bena Roberts Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

I had a fantastic demo of mobile advertising from Yahoo! on the floor at Mobile World Congress. I went through the whole display objectives and they just jumped straight into PPC campaigns and Yahoo!’s view of mobile advertising. Well in short, Yahoo! is doing some very groovy things in mobile advertising and display ads. Unlike competitors they are setting a quite high minimum for running mobile advertising campaigns and it seems as though the company has been using search stats from its “trials and deployments” in operators to already statistically assess the threshold of what consumers want to pay for mobile advertising and where to position Yahoo!

In fact, I am now even more convinced that it was a PR and Management problem that Yahoo! has had over the past year. The services are impressive and the company is impressing in mobile search and advertising.

Rating: PS.Thanks for the sweets. If anyone is hungry head to Yahoo! in Hall 7 for a great pick and mix sweetie selection
