My MWC app should organise show attendees
Rating: First you have to find it. And it’s not iPhone
Trying to organise yourself for the cellular world’s largest show – the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona - is a nightmare. Its patron, the GSM Association (GSMA) has come out with a new app - My MWC - to solve this problem. It’s not even an Android or iPhone app, though.
This is the teaser which the GSMA put out, promising a social networking tool to help ease the pain of this massive exhibition.
“We are pleased to introduce My MWC, a new social networking tool to enhance your Mobile World Congress experience and expand your mobile networking connections,” the GSMA chortles.
Apparently the tool can, ” Create a virtual profile complete with unique interests and links to your website or blog.”
Also you can, “Connect with other attendees, send messages and set up meetings. Plus it allows you to follow specific exhibitors and search for attendees with similar interests.”
The best bit is that you can, “Create a personalised schedule, including conference sessions and pre-arranged meetings that can be exported to your personal calendar.”
Unfortunately attendees can only gain access to My MWC when they buy a Congress Pass or by accessing their registration details online. The login is here.
GoMo News –which is an official media partner of the MWC show – just couldn’t find the app. Anyway, it’s for desktop PCs not a leading mobile app such as an iPhone one.
Incidentally there’s a mobile web version of the official MWC site. Access it here.
Stay tuned for an update on the My MWC front.
