MyScreen has developed a new mobile advertising solution for the Android. MyScreen is the get paid to click mobile ad company in the US that Orascom has an investment in.
What does it do?
It is an operator solution that enables MyScreen advertising on the Android. The offer is for a full screen mobile advert that can be run or used in conjunction with a loyalty program.
What does this mean?
In short MyScreen is saying that with mobile advertising there is no compensation for users just banners. With its services loyalty can be sewn in.
From the press release
“We continue to expand our device compatibility list through our aggressive development efforts” says Brian Field, Vice President Subscriber Experience and Integration at MyScreen “we recognized early on that device capabilities and innovation would ensure that the device market would move in our direction, and would result in MyScreen being able to deliver the ultimate mobile advertising experience for mobile operators, and more importantly for their subscribers!”
“Subscribers will begin demanding MyScreen on their phones because it delivers the highest value ad delivery and the best non-intrusive user experience” according to Mark D’Cunha, CTO at Myscreen.
What we think?
In times of a recession, loyalty is a great spin for mobile operators and a vital source of consumer “nursing”. Loyalty schemes have their ups and downs and this one would be for Android primarily – so not mass market.
What I do find comical is the way that the press release implies that banners don’t give anything to consumers. A banner is an advert and usually is placed in an application when something is funded so – that is not strictly true.
But adverts are actually just a part of daily life.
Back to the press release this is interesting I will check it out as its not just about the advert loyalty schemes or programs need to be good and very very simple to use if they are to succeed.
