Mywaves launches SND2mbl feature with Nettwerk Artists
Rating: gr8, man

Barenaked Ladies, Jars of Clay, The format are music bands (no I don’t know them either) but that is not the point. Mobile yoof know who they are and now music fans can watch videos from these bands on their mobile phone. The service is supported and produced by mywaves and its free apart from mobile data rates.
From the press release:
“Working with mywaves to mobilize our artists’ web video content is another way to further extend the relationship with their fans around the world. SND2MBL allows fans to access their favorite artists’ music content anywhere they want and in whatever medium they’re looking to receive it,” said Terry McBride, CEO of Nettwerk. “SND2MBL also gives our up and coming artists a vehicle to gain exposure through word of mouth and viral mobile video sharing; it will be a great means of discovery for all our artists.”
“Working with such a forward-thinking record label as Nettwerk is the perfect way to connect our global audience of mobile users with some of their favorite music artists and provide the artists with another medium to connect with their fans,” said Rajeev Raman, mywaves CEO.
What we think
I met mywaves at the Orange Partner Camp and the company also won an award for Innovation. Brian MacDonald is an asset to the team and someone that has been in mobile for a long time and actually can remember the initial hype around WAP. I had breakfast (or was it lunch) with him at the partner camp and we could have spoken for hours. He knows his stuff and basically he wowed me and GoMo News is a now a huge mywaves fan. From the demo:
viewing was easy
setting up even simpler and
the quality was also good.
This is “made for advertising” video service.
