Namco Bandai The X Factor 2008- The Mobile Game

In Ireland last week I was in a bookshop and the girls working there were talking about the X Factor. The conversation went like this.

“I had a really wild night last night”.

“Really? Where did you go?

Name of place in Dublin

“What did you do?”

“I stayed in to watch the X-Factor

“OMG. Don’t tell me. I have it recorded and am going to watch it when I get home”.

“I would have watched it when I got home last night”

“What? At 4.45 in the morning – I was shattered – but will watch it when I get in”.

At that point I interrupted them paid for my new book The Secret. But on the train from Dublin to Waterford in between talking to a lovely Indian family just moved to Waterford (sitting opposite me) and finishing off the detail for the Mobile SEO workshop) that I was doing – I thought about the X Factor.  Now I must admit – I don’t watch it –but I can’t remember anything 20 years ago when I 16 and got my first Saturday job at Sainsbury’s that made me want to record anything or talk about it obsessively.

So – back to the point -

Namco Bandai Networks Europe Ltd, a leading global publisher of mobile games, has announced the launch of ‘The X Factor 2008 - The Mobile Game’, a brand new game based on award-winning entertainment show that gives mobile subscribers the chance to test out their own star credentials on the move. Available immediately across all major UK operators, including Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile and Orange, the new game continues the growing trend for hands-on interactive games which target a wider audience base of casual gamers. The format has been licensed by FremantleMedia Enterprises’ Licensing division to Namco Bandai.

What we think?
Based on the conversation I heard – this will be huge - cause X-Factor is huge.
