NeoMedia’s Gavitec offers mobile ticketing to Spainair
Rating: airlines are taking off with mobile ticketing
by Bena Roberts
Spainair and Vodafone Spain are using NeoMedia’s Gavitec (mobile digit) technology to provide customers with a new mobile boarding service.
Based on MMS the system sends consumers a 2D barcode with boarding info, text and travel details that needs to be scanned at the ticket desk.
What we think?
This sounds easy enough it’s supported by a spainair.mobi site and (its seems that) airlines are flocking to mobile ticketing services. Ryanair and now Spainair and Vodafone Spain. It’s all good news for consumers who don’t need to worry about tickets and paperless tickets are greener (something that airlines all need to consider due to strict new EU guidelines).
