NeuStar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR) has announced that it was selected by StarHub, to launch a new multi-community mobile Instant Messaging (IM) service to StarHub’s customers in Singapore.
StarHub has chosen NeuStar’s the mobile IM suite to launch its new messaging service “Chat Anywhere,” and is the first operator in Asia to launch both Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger on one multi-community Client on the mobile phone.
From the press release
Stephen Tsang, vice president, APAC at NeuStar Next Generation Messaging (NGM), commented: “StarHub has been one of the most innovative operators in Asia since its launch in 2000, with a number of milestones for innovation and customer solutions. Text messaging is hugely popular, and we want to help StarHub build on the success of SMS and benefit from the instant messaging phenomenon that is driving new revenues and value to our customers around the world. We at NeuStar are delighted to add them to the growing number of operators launching innovative mobile IM services.”
What we think?
Interoperability for MIM services is vital and essential. I can’t believe that there are still so many operators that don’t have it. Yahoo and MSN are the big ones – but I do use Skype more and more for business.
