New tariffs for EWE TEL the Vodafone Partner in Germany

Rating: OK, but terrible tariff names

EWE TEL the local fixed line and Internet company from Oldenburg in North Germany has launched two new price plans. One for EUR 29,95 called SuperFlat. It offers all calls to fixed lines and 30 million Vodafone customers inclusive at all times. Then for EUR 39.95 there is the SuperFlat Extra. With this option you get a mobile device for EUR 1. There is a start up fee for both tariffs: EUR 24,95.

Germany is a huge country but local providers especially in the Internet and fixed line space tend to do quite well. EWE Tel is one of them. ISH in Bonn is another. The local reach and advertising are well received in the community.

By joining with EWE Tel Vodafone becomes a little bit more local and is able to win a new market segment. EWE Tel was Vodafone’s first ever partnership with a fixed line operator in Germany. Vodafone will gain new users from this partnership and EWE Tel inherits Vodafone’s poor choice of tariff naming.
