Nexage has launched a Click to Video mobile advertising solution. Advertisers can use the Click-to-Video landing page service, which is based on Nexage’s PhoneCast platform, to deliver a mobile video ad to anyone with a suitably sophisticated phone anywhere in the world.

The solution is self-service tool so advertisers can create mobile web pages and load videos for mobile campaigns. Functions include:
• custom templates to make mobile web page creation quick and easy;
• feedback pages to enable users to submit feedback, email addresses and phone numbers;
• drop down menus to control page layout;
• a simulated mobile screen to help advertisers tailor their WAP pages for mobile devices;
• tool for advertisers to preview their landing page on a mobile;
• a hosted solution for advertiser’s WAP pages and videos;
• video can be ingested, encoded, phone and carrier detection carried out and video delivered via streaming or downloads to most phones on most operators’ networks worldwide.

ipsh!, a mobile marketing agency and part of the Omnicom Group, will be using Nexage’s solution to help advertisers promote their new products, movies and television programmes on mobile devices.

This looks to have at least two big upsides. Firstly it should keep costs down for advertisers using mobile as a channel, which so far has been a humungous pain in watsit for them, particularly as so many big carriers don’t give two hoots about the amount of agg they cause advertisers.

Secondly it’s fun for consumers who can download their fave ads and send them to their mates. I believe it’s called a viral effect. I have a request. Please can someone mobilise the John Smith’s Extra Smooth Bitter ads with Peter Kay in them?
