Nokia Hyundai Mobile Advertising pushing click through rates of 3.41%
Nokia/ Enpocket sent me some stats from their advertising with Hyundai.
You can take a look at the Nokia Ad demo here: www.nokiaads.mobi
What was the mobile advertising campaign?
Nokia has to raise the brand awareness of the new Hyundai car Genesis (I have a huge urge now to sing abacab). So Nokia ads created a campaign featuring banner ads that clicked through to a Genesis mobile Web sie. Consumers could view mobile ads, text in a short code for fast access to the mobile site and download wallpaper.
From the Product Sheet
The results – CTRs averaging 3.41 percent
The results of the test campaign were very
encouraging, achieving a click-through rate
of 3.41 percent. Additionally, 11 percent of
people who clicked through to the Hyundai
banner ad submitted their e-mail address to
get the free“RevTone.”
Hyundai was able to capitalize not only on
the days leading up to the Big Game and
the Sunday itself, but thanks to downloadable
brand-sponsored content like wallpaper,
they will continue to make an impact after
the event.
Client: Hyundai Motor America

What we think?
OK. 3.41% CTR sounds quite good. But I am sure this is because its for a car. I am a car freak myself and I can’t help but click on car ads - whatever they are?
Why? Who knows! But cars are like houses they have that thing that makes people curious. But more than that – it’s actually nice to find a non-saucy advert on mobile. A lot of the ad networks might say no porn, but the amount of saucy ads for babes and wallpaper or crap ringtones is on the up.
But what does it mean for Nokia. A few ad networks have said that advertisers hate Nokia and Enpocket will die in Nokia’s hands. When I met that awful guy in January who tried to gag me about writing about Nokia during a conference I was sure that Enpocket would fail. With staff like that, and corporate communications with no clue how to deal with bloggers – I even put a bet on with a senior product manager at a US ad network that Nokia/ Enpocket would die a death.
But, to be honest these results look good. I don’t hold grudges so good luck Enpocket moving forward
