Nokia Mobile Advertising Alliance

by: Bena Roberts Saturday, June 14th, 2008

I know I am late with this news - so sorry.  But basically, Nokia has launched an advertising alliance with mobile companies to increase its mobile advertising inventory. Nokia will serve as a platform (via its purchase of Enpocket).

What we think?

I actually had drinks with some friends from Nokia Interactive when this story was announced. I thought immediately that this solves one huge issue.

Brands and small start-ups bang on Nokia’s door to get onto its idle screen or downloaded onto new devices. By converting these companies into advertisers as part of an alliance - Nokia grows inventory and makes companies happy.

Why?

1. It gives them the promise of being part of something Nokia.

2. More importantly it allows consumers to target Nokia.mobi and other important branded areas and increases the chance of download to the right target market at the right time.

On another note: GoMo News has some similar exciting news in this area coming soon.
