Nokia Siemens to operate Orange mobile network in Britain and Spain

On the same day that Ericsson and Vodafone announced a 7-year deal for the UK, NSN and Orange have announced a deal for the UK and Spain. Nokia Siemens Networks will operate the telecom networks of Orange in Britain and Spain for the next five years.

This deal sounds almost exactly the same as the one worked out between Ericsson and Vodafone. NSN will be maintaining, operating and expanding the Orange networks, as well as taking on 230 staff from the operator. It seems like outsourcing has become the order of the day for pressured networks trying to cut down on costs.
