Nokia tries to bridge the social networking gap with Mosh
Rating: too dark for me, man
Nokia has launched into the beta phase of its own social network, Mosh – the name referring to bad behaviour in crowds, eminem’s anti-bush anthem, Indie music and staying up way, way too late.
In an attempt to bridge the gap with online social networking and mobile, the company says it is, “A user-generated content platform designed specifically for use with any mobile device. Create, upload, collect and share applications (like games, software mashups, videos, blogs, music and photos) all from your mobile.”
See http://mosh.nokia.com and www.mosh.nokia.mobi
Subscribers can then communicate with other Mosh members by SMS or email. Last month Nokia acquired the US-based media sharing service it acquired late last month, but it is not clear whether Mosh is based on Twango’s technology or not.
Just before I go crowd surfing, I’d like to say that when Facebook finally becomes a truly mobile phenomenon, Mosh might well find itself shoved out of the way.

But thanks for the tip, bena
